Anything, you say? [Oct. 6th, 2010|02:45 pm]
Time-Bomb Fiction

Challenge response:

Write something. Anything.

Right now.

They're still coming.

Demons, creatures of the dark, unholy abominations. There's getting to be more of them all the time. You escape one, only to wait for the next one to come.

I can her them now, off in the distance. Their inhuman sounds as they spread like a blight on the landscape. To merely look upon them is madness. And there is no escaping them.

So here I wait. To hold out as long as I can. Could I possibly avoid them? No ... too much to hope for. Or reason with them? I chuckle to myself at the absurdity of such a thought. How could I even communicate with such otherworldly beasts?

They're getting near now. I dare a glimpse from my hiding place. Ghastly, indescribable terrors approaching. Is this it? My final stand? They'll be here in moments ...

Trick or treat!!!

It's an old sentiment.

He who fights with monsters should be careful lest he thereby become a monster. And if thou gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will also gaze into thee.
-- Nietzsche, "Beyond Good and Evil"
